Use #DSTMHAL to report your Mental Health Across the Lifespan activities

About the Initiative

The Mental Health Across the Lifespan initiative (#DSTMHAL) is a collaborative effort of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. with the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) and the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), both part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), a component of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.  A Memorandum of Understanding establishing the collaboration was signed in late 2014. For assistance with postpartum depression, please call Postpartum Support International (PSI) at 1-800-944-4773, any day and any time.

The multi-year collaborative effort seeks to raise awareness about issues affecting women and their families throughout the lifespan, including mental disorders such as postpartum depression, and issues that can impact mental health, including bullying and aging. This initiative also aims to reinforce the importance of recognizing the signs of mental illness and of seeking help and treatment from healthcare providers.

Chapters are encouraged to use the modules below to implement targeted community programs and to use #DSTMHAL when promoting these materials or programs via social media.
