2 Which point of the Five-Point Programmatic Thrust applies to your life the most? Why? Economic Development—I am a true accountant/finan-cial numbers girl—always have been. I grew up learning the value and the meaning of a dollar very early. The lack of something makes you appreciate it more! I believe if we can empower others with a few basic financial tools, it can pro-vide a foundation that will yield greater rewards and flex-ibility for the paths we take in our lives. 3 If you could meet anyone from the Sorority’s history, whom would it be and why? While I have been around her on many occasions, I ac-tually never had a chance to “meet” Soror Dorothy Irene Height. Her strength, tenacity and vision were astounding. What an impact she has made on Delta, on social action, on the Civil Rights Movement, on this nation. She was an advocate for social justice! s20 DELTA SIGMA THETA SORORITY, INC. 4 What is your most memorable Delta moment? My most memorable Delta moment was my very first National Convention. It was 1992 in Baltimore. The Open-ing Ceremony brought tears to my eyes. To see all those sorors in all those white dresses, circling the arena… WOW! What an awesome experience! I haven’t missed a conven-tion since. 5 What is your favorite piece of Delta parapher-nalia? My favorite piece of Delta paraphernalia is my gold and diamond Delta symbol pendant. It is a classic piece that lets everyone know “I am a Delta” without ever saying a word. My second favorite is a silver cigar band ring with the“Delta Sigma Theta” Greek symbols. I just love its boldness! s
